Irene Van De Woestyne
(December 3, 1923 – April 3, 2010)
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother on Saturday, April 3, 2010. Irene Van De Woestyne passed away at the Lampman Community Health Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Frys, Saskatchewan on December 3, 1923 to William and Angel Parker. Irene married Andrew Van De Woestyne on June 19, 1946. Together they had three children: Jo-Ann, Paulette, and Raymond. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew in 1978; her brothers Francis, Raymond, and Albert; her sisters Elizabeth and Maria; and her step-sisters Veta and Nora. She leaves her three children: JO-ANN (Wayne); grandchildren Andy and great-grandchildren Jacqueline, Jasper and Joanna; Gerret (Krista) and great-grandchildren K’Lyn and Genna; Shawna (Trevor) and great-grandchildren Jaci (Nic), Jayden and great-great-granddaughter Cydney; Jodi (Paul) and great-granddaughter Alida; PAULETTE (Dennis) and grandchildren Dean (Sheila) and great-grandchildren Tyler, Tyler, Tristan and Tiana; Deren (Keri) and great-grandchildren Payton, Teegan and Damien; Devin (Nikki) and great-grandchildren Jordyn, Carter and Morgan; RAYMOND (Janice) and grandchildren Stefanie (Dean) and great-grandchildren Cohen, Cedar and Bevan; Samantha (Paul) and Andrew. And she leaves her last living sibling Suzanne George in Redvers, Saskatchewan.
Peacefully sleeping, resting at last,
The world’s every trouble and trials are past,
In silence she suffered, in patience she bore,
Till God called her home to suffer no more.
We wish to thank the nurses and staff at the Lampman Community Health Center for their kind care for the last few weeks of our mother’s life. All donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Lampman Community Health Center. Prayers will be held in Lampman on Friday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Seven Sorrows R.C. Church. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 10, at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Seven Sorrows R.C. Church, Lampman, with interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
