Born on December 29, 1927 in Utrecht, Holland, Leny came to Canada as a war bride in 1946. After settling on the farm near Parkman, she lived there until her passing. Mom enjoyed children, often saying, “there’s always room for one more” – and there always was! Mom enjoyed gardening, knitting, reading, visiting with company and sports (Montreal Canadiens!). She also taught catechism for many years. Her strong commitment to her faith and practice of daily family prayer helped instil faith in family members that is still carried on. She always promoted the pursuit of education and encouraged all of her children to pursue higher learning. Her family remained the most important part of her life and her happiest times were family gatherings at Christmas, Easter, weddings and other special occasions.
The family would like to extend our sincere thanks for the superb level of care Mom received while at the Moosomin Integrated Care Facility and for accommodating our needs.
Prayers will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. and a funeral mass will be con-celebrated on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. by Rev. Clement Nwankwo and Rev. David Banga.
