Shirley May Mayer
(May 15, 1947 – October 2, 2010)
After a courageous battle with cancer, Shirley Mayer, born May 15, 1947 in Hartney, MB passed away on October 2, 2010 surrounded by her family in Estevan, SK.
She is survived by Don, her loving husband of 44½ years. Together they have four children: Randy (Krista) Mayer of Estevan, Christina Mayer of Regina, Richard (Suzanne) Mayer of Estevan and Cheryl (Brian) Brandow of Estevan. She adored her nine grandchildren: Kayla, Melissa, Sara, Kylie, Jenny, Basia, Tyler, Tanner and Jayden, as well as two great-grandchildren: Dylan and Hailey.
Shirley is also survived by her two sisters: Sheila (Terry) Collins of Estevan and Carol (Allan) DeNevers of Wawota, SK, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and one aunt. Shirley is predeceased by her parents, Wilson and Annie Morris, her in-laws Rudolph and Elfreida Mayer, and numerous aunts and uncles.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Estevan, with the talk by Colin Nicoll.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Estevan Palliative Care or the Canadian Cancer Society in Shirley’s memory.
