Dorothy Joan Symons
(March 26, 1925 – April 4, 2011)
Dorothy Symons passed away at Hill View Manor in Estevan, SK on Monday, April 4, 2011 at the age of 86 years.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Beverly (David) Girling of Sydney, B.C. [Nancy (Dan); Pam (Tom) and children Jonathan, Delana, David and Benjamin; Gregory (Liz) and children Madeleine and Charlotte], Melodye (Bert) Pierson of Estevan [Jeff and children Bailey and Ryder; Brad (Colette) and children Tyran and Camryn], Jan (Doug) Blue of Estevan [Jody and children Sydney, Jessica, Kale and Samantha; Darby (Corbett); Philip (Amanda) and children Marvin and Henry; Marvin], Vernon (Lenora) Symons of Estevan [Desiree (Tyler) and children Jaycee and Tayson; Jay]; daughter-in-law Janet Symons of Estevan [Lee (Tash) and children Cruz and Cashton; Cora (Curtis)]; brother William (Peggy) Mitchell of Lethbridge, AB, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and family in England and Minnesota.
She was predeceased by her husband George in 2007, son Marvin in 2005 and parents, William and Gertrude Mitchell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hall Funeral Services, Estevan. A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Estevan, with the Rev. Mike Sinclair officiating. Interment will follow in the Estevan City Cemetery.
