Dora Christina Carlsen
(December 16, 1907 – February 2, 2011)
Dora Carlsen passed away in the Redvers Centennial Haven, Redvers, SK on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the age of 103 years.
Left to cherish precious memories are Dora’s children, Agnes Jonassen of Redvers, Lloyd (Sandra) Carlsen of Toronto, ON, Donald (Lyla) Carlsen of Redvers and Ruth (Joe) Murphy of Redvers; 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; her sister Anna (Egon) Gade of Redvers and sister-in-law Nellie Carlson of Toronto, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dora was predeceased by her parents, Jens and Agnes Sorensen; husband Martin Carlsen; grandson Thor Carlsen, great grandson Travis Pierlot and great great grandson Blake Pierlot; sons-in-law, Roy Pierlot and John Jonassen; daughter-in-law Ruth Carlsen and brother Allan Sorensen.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Dora’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in Dannevirke Lutheran Church, Redvers, with Rev. Cornelia van Bentum officiating. Cremation will follow with interment to take place in Dannevirke Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
Those so wishing may make donations to the Redvers Centennial Haven Auxiliary or the Dannevirke Lutheran Church Memorial Fund in Dora’s memory.
