William "Henry" Knox
(August 2, 1909 – July 22, 2011)
Henry passed away in the Estevan Regional Nursing Home on Friday, July 22, 2011 at the age of 101 years.
Henry was born in Estevan and went to school in Bromhead where his parents William and Eva Knox farmed. In 1931 he married Vera Munshaw and in 1935 moved to the Hogan farm. They were blessed with three children: son Dalton, and daughters, Hazel and Eunice (now deceased). With Vera’s ill health we moved to Estevan, and in 1975 Vera passed away.
Henry worked for the Estevan Co-op for 15 years transporting fuel to farmers and locals, meeting their fuel needs. In 1977 he married Lil Piper and she passed away in 2004. Henry was active in church work and the Gideons. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, we are thankful for his lot in life. He is survived by his son Dalton, daughter Hazel, his grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents William and Eva Knox, one brother, seven sisters.
