Alice Clara Levesque
(July 14, 1907 – October 11, 2011)
Alice Levesque nee Foy was born in Forget, Sask. to Jeremiah and Annie Foy on July 14, 1907. She had 5 brothers and 1 sister, all since deceased. When the family returned to the U.S.A., where they were from originally, Alice remained in Canada where she met and married Ludger Levesque.
Alice passed away at Newhope Pioneer Lodge in Stoughton, where she was a resident for the past 4 years, on Oct. 11, 2011. She was 104 years old, but still capable and still interested in what her family and friends were up to.
Predeceased by her husband Ludger, son Leo Levesque (Katie), daughter Irene
Anderson (Bill), and grandsons Robert Brems, and David Anderson.
Alice is survived by daughter Lillian Brems (Fred), and son Albert Levesque (Rosaline). Alice had a large family of 23 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and an unending number of great-great-grand children to carry on her legacy.
She had a great love of gardening and was happiest when her flowers were the biggest and the best. She was also a great knitter, crocheter, and quilter. Everyone has benefited, right up to the final days, from pot scratchers, to afghans, to quilts. Every stitch is a treasured memory. Alice was a religious woman who loved God. Now she is with Him, and with Ludger again.
Prayers will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. and Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Peter Nijssen. Both services will be held in Our Lady of La Salette R.C. Church, Forget, SK. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Those so wishing may make donations to Our Lady of La Salette Church Memorial Fund, Forget, SK, in Alice’s memory.
