Obituary for William Frederick Martin

William Frederick  Martin
William Frederick Martin was born to John (Jack) Martin & Tillie (Wolff) Martin on May 7, 1947 in Quill Lake, Sask. Bill married Elsie Chorney, and they had two children, Rhonda Leigh & Quentin Anthony.

Bill was described as a jack of all trades. His advice was sought out by family and friends. Some of his volunteer time and employment endeavours included: president of the Celebration Saskatchewan committee, town council – 1980-88, school board for 21 years, BER lunch 1973-74, Totem Drive Inn 1971-73, Store Manager of Solo grocery store, Butcher at IGA, Martin Construction and he was an active member of the Redvers Wildlife Federation. He always said that he cut meat and wood.

Bill passed away in Moosomin, Sask. at age 67 on Sunday, March 15, 2015 after fighting several ailments.

Bill was predeceased by his son Quentin Anthony; father and mother, Jack and Tillie Martin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill & Katie Chorney; sisters, Hazel and Mary Martin; brother John Martin; brothers-in-law, Ed Shanks and Peter Pisio; niece Betty Shanks.

He leaves to mourn his wife of 50 years, Elsie Martin; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Steven Miller; grandchildren, Ashley (Mike) Clark, Courtlyn Miller, Jordon (Mila) Miller and Koltyn Miller (Kendra); great grandchildren, Meika and Carter Clark and Burklee Miller; sisters, Ester Pisio and Margaret Shanks, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In keeping with Bill's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private family interment will take place at the Redvers Town Cemetery.

Those so wishing may make donations to the Redvers Wildlife Federation in Bill's memory.
