Obituary for Katherine "Katie" Giem (Symotuk)
Katherine "Katie" Giem, formerly of Bienfait, Sask. passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Estevan, Sask. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the age of 90 years.
Katie’s memory will be forever cherished by her sons, Garry (Toni), Darwin (Sheila), Warren (Sharon) and Blair (Karen); 8 grandchildren, Denise, Ken, Wendy, Jeff, Mandy, Marcy, Tammy and Shelly; 10 great grandchildren, Justine, James, Ryan, Tyler, Chris, Brittany, Megan, Makenna, Kayla and Colton; and 2 great great grandchildren, Dalton and Lily.
She was predeceased by her husband Stewart; parents, Alex and Annie; infant son at birth; grandson Kevin; sisters, Marie, Rose and Stella.
A Celebration of Katie’s life was held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hall Funeral Services, Estevan, with Doug Third officiating. Interment followed in the Bienfait Cemetery, after which a luncheon took place in the Taylorton Room at the Days Inn Estevan.
Those so wishing to make donations in Katie’s memory may do so to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, 1176 Nicholson Road, Estevan, SK, S4A 0H3.
Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Estevan.
