Condolence: Remembering my dear Auntie Arlene and many vacations together. We attended the June '51 wedding of Dale & Arlene in Estevan & visited again in June of '55. Dale, Arlene & baby Grant Abbott came to Kingsburg for Auntie Helen's Dec '56 wedding. We had a white Christmas in Estevan '57 & the Abbott's brought Grant, baby Bruce Abbott, Gma & Gpa Morine to Ca for a "winter vacation" '59. Arlene loved having family around with music, stories & great old fashioned meals! We returned to Estevan Dec '60, June '64 & Dec '65 where Abbott's often hosted large family meals, cousin fun & lots of laughter. They came to CA Dec '67 & I got to join them in Disneyland. Through the years she was a "constant" in our lives, faithful letter writer, & prayer warrior for all the family. She modeled how to age gracefully, enjoy outings & love her kids & grandchildren ♡ Susie Pickrell

Condolence: A fine lady indeed. A generous soul, with a soft and kind voice. And I also learned about base coat and top coat for fingernail polish from Aunt Arlene (as a teen, I was in awe of those fingernails, and now have a modest set of my own, complete with all the coats.) But it is her beautiful voice that will always stay with me. Sorry for your loss. Susan Abbott (from Facebook)

Condolence: Dear Grant. We are so sorry to hear about Arlene. I was just thinking of her as we are traveling to Saskatchewan in June and looking forward to a visit. She was the last of the Abbott roots in Estevan. Let us know about the memorial arrangements. Love, Frank and Phyllis Abbott

Condolence: Grant, We're so sorry to hear about your Mom. She was a real spark. I remember her on the dance floor at Sarah and Jordan's wedding - celebrating long into the night. She was so happy and so proud. She lived to see her children grow to be caring and compassionate adults and saw that her grandchildren were charting the same path. She had reason to be proud and to be happy. She is blessed. Dave and Pam Kohlenberg “The only lasting beauty is the beauty of the heart” ― Rumi

Condolence: The last few days have seen a flood of memories of your Mother. It is so nice that we had such a warm and loving relationship between our two families. The trip to Spain & Portugal, golf and Saskatoon picking when we visited, your visit to the cottage and to Expo. And our thoughts are for you, Maureen and Bruce mourning the loss of your Mother. Your Mother had a firm belief in the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her death is both an end and a beginning. May we all be comforted by this. Your Uncle Bill & Aunt Francis

Condolence: Hi Grant and Peggy, We were so sorry to hear the news of Auntie Arlene passing away this week and my heart goes out to all of you and your families . I have such good memories of your Mom, Grant. She was such a lovely lady and so kind and caring to everyone…not to mention how much fun she was! It was always so exciting as a kid, knowing that we would be going to Estevan to see your family, and we always felt welcomed and had the best time there. Both your Mom and Dad raised 3 amazing kids, and I could tell that your Mom was just so proud of her grandkids as well. Your Mom was obviously a very strong lady, outliving all of her siblings and very supportive of all of them over the years. I know they will have all welcomed her Home into God’s loving arms. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I know this is such a difficult time and we will be thinking of all of you on Saturday. Please pass our love and prayers on to Bruce/Cheryl and family, as well as Maureen and Glen. Love to everyone, Valerie and Brian Kerr

Condolence: Dear Grant, Bruce, Maureen and Families. Very sorry to learn of the loss of your mom. Thinking of you at this time. Your mom was always kind to me, overlooking my small mistakes but concerned enough to correct the big ones. I remember her love of family and friends, her vibrancy and cheerfulness. I know her home in heaven will have a nice yard, a nice basement with lots of games, a bright kitchen with popcorn and perhaps a tent trailer to come visiting. I will miss my Aunt Arlene a lot, and pray that your hearts and minds will be filled with memories of the love, kindness, strength and faith that your mother exemplified. God bless you Prairie Abbotts. You have made your parents proud and carry their dreams well. All our love, Brian, Sharon, Hannah and Corrie Abbott.
