Obituary for Yvonne Alvena Losie

Yvonne Alvena Losie
Yvonne Alvena Losie
1934 - 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mom, grandmother and sister Yvonne on March 3, 2017. Mom passed away peacefully in Estevan with her family by her side.

She was born on August 29, 1934, in Arborfield Sask. She entered nursing in 1958 and spent more than 30 years caring for others in that profession. She worked in Weyburn, Moose Jaw, Regina, Saskatoon and various places in northern Saskatchewan and was awarded the Head Nursing position of the 5DE ward at RUH. But family was her true joy. Yvonne shared a special bond with her mother and sister. Yvonne married Ralph in 1963 and they enjoyed more than 40 years as a couple until his death in 2004. They had four children and through the years the family enjoyed many happy vacations, holidays and special occasions together. She lived a life full of love and laughter, surrounded by family and friends, and was passionate about sharing her love for others in her nursing career and beyond.

Yvonne was predeceased by her husband Ralph; mother Alma Nelson; mother-in-law Marjorie; father-in-law Jim and brothers-in-law, Phil and Denis. Yvonne

She is survived by her children Patrice (Brent) Hoffos, Michael (Diane) Losie, Mark Losie and Jeff (Wanda) Losie; grandchildren, Carlie, Christopher, Jordan, Jennifer, Andrew, Brayden, Jackie, Jessica and Shane; sister Dorothy (Bill) McQueen; sisters-in-law, Patricia (Lou) Marchand, Josephine (Dave) Hartnell, Maureen (Terry) Scott, Diana Losie and Donna Losie, along with several beloved nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass was held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 535 - 8 Street E., Saskatoon, SK with Rev. Nestor Gregoire presiding. A private family interment will take place at a later date. The lunch reception took place immediately following the mass in the Parish Hall.

Arrangements were entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Estevan.
