Obituary for Joan Olive Power (Scargall)

Joan Olive Power
1942 – 2017

As a teacher, Joan Power leaves behind many lessons. First, live as much as you can. You only have to count every second birthday. Although she sadly passed September 3, 2017 at the age of 75, she would have said she was 37-and-a-half. Second, love always. You’re never too far or too late or too young or too old. And, third, laugh whenever possible. There’s light in all things, if you know where to look.

Left to carry these lessons and more are her sons, Rick and Dan Power with their wives Diane and Angela. Thousands of other memories are left with Joan’s loving family: Adam, Kylee, Dylan, Jordan, Austin, Jared, Taylor and Charlotte Rose Power; Hunter and Mariah Hildebrand and Brenna Sellsted. Joan will also be missed by her sister Emily (Doug) Tucker, her brother Ralph (Carole) Scargall and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joan was predeceased by her parents, Aner and Olive Scargall.

Always the life of every party, Joan had many friends in many places. To that end, Joan’s loved ones will hold a celebration of her adventure through life on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Stoughton Drop-in Centre, 319 Main Street, Stoughton, SK.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Canada, 1003 Decarie Blvd., Montreal, QC H4A 0A9 in memory of Joan.

Special thanks to Shirley & Rob Hildebrand and Dallas Krueger.

Joan is now on yet another adventure, another road trip with her late husband, friend, and Sweet Pea, Larry Sellsted.

Live, Love, Laugh.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Estevan.
