Aug. 30, 1936 – Sept. 29, 2017
Eileen Shepherd, late of the Ocean Man First Nation, SK, passed away at the St. Joseph’s Hospital Special Care Home, Estevan, SK on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the age of 81 years.
Eileen was predeceased by her children, Angela Big Eagle, Rhonda Shepherd, Lee Shepherd and Darrell Shepherd; step daughter Deborah Allary; granddaughter Shayla Shepherd; great great grandson, baby Dayton Bellegarde; parents, Thomas Shepherd and Cecilia Lone Thunder; sisters, Thelma Allary, Victoreen Shepherd and baby sisters, Martha and Gloria; brothers, Norman Shepherd, Howard Shepherd, Davis Shepherd, Irvin Shepherd, Ralph Lone Thunder, Kelly Lone Thunder and Gary Lone Thunder.
She is survived by her children, Gloria Shepherd (Blair), Darrin (Kim) Shepherd, Denise (Eion) Lonechild, Patricia Shepherd, Ronald (Pam) Shepherd and Rodney (Holly) Shepherd; step daughters, Freida Allary, Shirleen Allary and Jody Allary-Bitternose (Chad); 27 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild (Eileen also raised 7 grandchildren and 2 nieces); sister Doreen Shepherd (Donald), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A wake was held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 (service to begin at 7:00 p.m.) with Dr./Pastors Allan & Harriet Walker officiating and the celebration of Eileen’s life was held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr./Pastor Gloria Johnson officiating. Both services were held at the Ocean Man First Nation Communiplex. Interment took place at the Ocean Man First Nation Cemetery, with a lunch and give away following.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Estevan.
