Zachary's Story

Zachary's story:

This story is my own... I could only narrow it down to 3 memories I hold deeply with Grandpa. I remember the first of many fishing outings. Teaching me how to fish and going out on the boat. Such times were so pleasant and peaceful. Though exciting when either one of us yelled "Fish On!" He was the Captain and I was the Helmsman.

The countryside drives where I could confide and ask for guidance. How to be a man,  general life questions and wisdom that followed suit. Appreciating my roots and embracing who I can and will become. To this day,  I do my best to follow his advice.

When I moved out of Estevan. I had a hard time living away. Everytime I came back... I felt at a genuine peace. From getting off the bus to driving up to the house. Seeing the smile was always uplifting. I could always tell him what was going on. Even when I moved further away. I always looked forward to coming back with greater fervor. Through the tough times... He was always there to give me strength and inspiration.
