1925 - 2018

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our mother Katherine Ludwig (Makellky), 92, on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, Regina, SK.

Kay was born on June 9, 1925 in the Estevan District and lived most of her life in the Lampman and Estevan area. The last five years, she resided in Regina.

Kay is survived by her children, Raymond (Kathy) Ludwig of Estevan, SK, Dolores (Jim) Purves of Brooks, AB and Gale (Allan) Miller of Regina; grandchildren, Tammy Ludwig-Forrest (David) of Airdrie, AB and her children, Kirk Forrest and Hillary (Mike) Beierle, children Kane and Cohen; Travis Ludwig of Sylvan Lake, AB and his children, Tanner, Kimberlee and Tabatha; Darren (Krista) Ludwig of Lampman, SK and their children, Austin, Dawson, Donavon and Dustin; Curt (Tammy) Purves of Swift Current, SK and their children, Chandra and Dawson; Cory (Jennifer) Purves of Great Falls, MT and their children, Hanna and Colton; Morgan (Brittany) Miller of Vibank, SK and Jared Miller of Regina. She is also survived by her siblings, Robert (Marion) Makellky of Regina and Frances Moldovan of Regina, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Kay was predeceased by her husband Louis Ludwig; parents, Peter and Katherine Makellky; siblings, Margaret (Emmanuel) Olheiser, Bernard (Hilda) Makellky, Dan Makellky, Mary (Herbert) Ludwig and Elizabeth (Jerry) Desjardins; brother-in-law William Moldovan, as well as numerous in-laws on the Ludwig side.

A celebration of Kay's life took place on Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, 1317 4th Street, Estevan. Interment will take place at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Wordsworth, Saskatchewan at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make donations in Kay's memory may do so directly to Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK, S4R 8P6.

Arrangements were entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Estevan.
