Obituary for Doug Howe

Doug Howe
Doug Howe
1951 - 2018

We are saddened to announce the passing of Ronald Douglas (Doug) Howe of Estevan, Saskatchewan on April 25, 2018. Doug was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on December 25, 1951 to Frances (Wengel) Sangster and William Andrew Howe.

Doug’s family moved to Estevan when he was a toddler. He spent his young years in Estevan and attended Pleasantdale Elementary. His father, Bill, passed away when he was 12 and Frances eventually remarried and moved the family to Stoughton, Saskatchewan to unite with the Sangster family. Doug graduated from Stoughton High School and lived in a few locations until eventually going on to attain his carpentry through STI in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

Doug settled in Estevan, Saskatchewan after first apprenticing with his brother Tom in Stoughton, Saskatchewan and subsequently worked many years for Hirsch Construction and SRI Homes Inc. in Estevan. Over the years Doug enjoyed sketching, painting, guitar and photography.

Family was happy and grateful to have the chance to reconnect with Doug this year after limited contact over the years. Much love and thanks to Tom and Jan Sangster and Don Sangster for all the assistance, care, love and support provided to Doug over the last few months of his illness.

Doug is survived by his mother Frances Sangster; his sisters, Dawn (Wayne) Hemminger, Patricia Howe, Kathy (Chris) Augey and Mary Jean Monuik; his brothers, Tom (Jan) Sangster, Don (Jeannette) Sangster and Jim (Linda) Sangster, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his fathers, William Andrew Howe and Donald William Sangster; his grandparents, Lancelot and Belle Howe and Susie and Erwin Wengel; his nephew Jameson Hemminger and his brother-in-law David Monuik.

There will be no formal service.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Estevan.
