Obituary for Audrey Irene Lausch (Greig)

AUDREY LAUSCH
1927- 2020

Audrey was born on the family farm in Creelman, Sask. to Gordon & Nellie Greig. Audrey was the 3rd child of 6 and the eldest daughter. After nursing school, Audrey moved to Lampman, Saskatchewan. In 1949, Audrey began her nursing career at the Lampman Union Hospital. In Lampman, Audrey met her husband Edwin. They were married in 1952 and shared 54 years together. They started their family and lived on the Lausch homestead of NW 30-5-6 W2 for 54 years .

Audrey was predeceased by her husband Edwin, son Brian, parents Gordon & Nellie Greig, brothers Cecil, Harold, Stan & Bailey Greig. In-laws: Herman & Talla Lausch; Audrey (Harrison) & Art Lausch; Len Lausch; Percy Nichol; Vi Greig.

Survived by her loving family: daughter Debra Lausch, son Robert (Yvonne) Lausch and daughter Carla Hoffort, sister Alice Nichol, 10 grandchildren: Greg (Niki), Jason (Kyla), Jessica Hoffort; Mike (Lexi), Karen (Nick Ouimet), Kevin; Melissa Posehn (Cory), Justin Lausch (Andrea); Evan (Christina), Amy Lausch. 9 great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; her special uncle Butch Williams (Grace) and Aunt Doris Serne; sisters-in-law Joyce Lausch, Margo Livingston and Alice Greig along with her many wonderful cousins & friends.

Audrey lived life to the fullest. Audrey nursed for 43 years but really nursed her entire life. She was always caring for everyone. Audrey was a hard worker & a person who made time for everyone. There was never a dull moment with Audrey around. Her fun spirit and sayings brought so much joy & laughter to all those around her. Audrey loved playing cards, gardening, acting out skits, games, family & her many wonderful friends. Audrey loved her winter months & friends in Yuma, AZ where she was a snowbird for over 30 years.

To know Audrey was to love her. She enriched all of our lives. We are all so blessed to have her in our lives for 92+ years. Audrey’s family is so very proud to call her our mom, gramma & great gramma. Audrey will live in our hearts forever.

A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, Lampman, SK with Rev. Lori James presiding. A time of lunch and fellowship followed the service. Interment took place at the Woodley Cromar Cemetery.
