Obituary for Edith Helen Raiwet (Mayo)

Edith Raiwet
1927 - 2020

Edith Raiwet, late of Stoughton, Sask. passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Estevan, Sask. on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the age of 93.

Edith was predeceased by her husband Andy; daughter Shirley; son Grant and grandson Brodie; parents: James and Fanny Mayo; brothers: Gordon and Richard Mayo.

She is survived by her loving family: children, Dale (Lorraine) Raiwet, Linda (Rick) Gordon and Darren (Samantha) Raiwet; daughter-in-law Sharon Raiwet; grandchildren: Scott, Karlee, Michael, Evan, Miles, Cruz and Ryder; great granddaughters: Laiken, Winter and Storey, as well as her nieces and nephews.

Mom was a very kind and strong lady. She and Dad raised five children, farmed side by side for years, then moved into town (Stoughton) in the early 1970s. Mom took a job at Dempsey Agencies doing books then moved on to become the administrator at Newhope Pioneer Lodge. She worked there from 1982 to 1994. At the age of 89 mom decided to return to the lodge, this time to reside and was there until her last days with us. Edith’s passing will leave a big void in the hearts of her family and community. We will miss her but know that she is at peace now in a very happy place, reunited with her loved ones that we lost far too soon. Forever loved.

A Private Family Graveside Service was held at the Stoughton Town Cemetery on November 28, 2020 with Monica Dayman officiating.

Those wishing to make a donation in Edith's memory may do so directly to the Newhope Lodge Activity Fund, Box 38, Stoughton, Sask., S0G 4T0.
