Obituary for Harold Ernest Coderre

Harold Coderre
1939 - 2022

It is with great sadness that Harold's family announces his passing at the Pasqua Hospital, Regina, Sask. on January 12, 2022 at the age of 82.

Harold will be forever loved and remembered by his family: wife of 59 years, Elaine; daughters: Kelly (Brian) Storlie and Kerry (Sam) Hintz; son Kelvin (Lorna) Coderre; grandchildren: Breanne (Spencer), Cole (Chloe), Shelby (Colin), Spenser, Skylar (Dawson), Brighton and Abby; great grandchildren: Kinnley, Amelia, Warren, Mackenzie, Roland, Alijah and Rhett; sisters: Joyce and Norma; brother Gordon.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Sylvester and Laura; sisters: Alice, Jean, Marie and infant sister Grace; brothers: Arnold, Don and Bill; step parents: Fred and Edna Brigden; step sister Norma Brigden.

Harold believed in being involved in the community he lived in. He started his involvement as the Mayor of Forget. He also served as president for the Credit Union, New Hope Pioneer Lodge and Heritage Manor. From 1991 - 2010 he served as a councillor for the RM of Brock.

Despite his gruff exterior, his bark was worse than his bite and he was the type of man who would move mountains for his family without complaint. He enjoyed many activities such as farming, camping, fishing, curling and golf. In 2013 Harold and Elaine bought a trailer in Mesa, Arizona where he got to golf daily and took up shuffleboard. Harold had the ability to make friends wherever he went and will be missed by many.

A Memorial Service in Harold's honour was held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. at the Kisbey Recreation Centre, Kisbey, Sask. with The Rev. Michelle Moore officiating. A time of fellowship and refreshments followed, after which interment took place in Our Lady of La Salette Parish Cemetery, Forget, Sask.

Those wishing to pay tribute to Harold via a donation in his memory may do so directly to the New Estevan Regional Nursing Home, 1201 - 2nd Street, Estevan, Sask., S4A 0M1.
