Obituary for Joseph Christopher "Smokin' Joe" Pirlot

1936 - 2020

Joseph Pirlot late of Wauchope, SK passed away at the Moose Mountain Lodge, Carlyle, SK on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the age of 84 years.

Joseph was born in 1936 in the Manor District, the youngest child of Jack and Catherine (Jacobi) Pirlot. Joe attended school at Winterburne and the Wauchope school until grade 9. Joe worked for various farmers and at the Sudbury Nickel mines in Ontario. He worked as a cook at work camps in northern Alberta until he returned home and married Brith, October 23, 1963. For the remainder of his life Joe was a grain and cattle farmer. Joe was an avid dancer and enjoyed many hours on the dance floor. Countless hours were enjoyed with the company of his grandchildren. During the last few years, he enjoyed spending time at the casino visiting and relaxing. Joe will be greatly missed for his sense of humour with family and friends.

Joe was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Catherine Pirlot; his son Tracey; brother Bill Pirlot and sister Thelma (Pirlot) Toms.

Joe will be lovingly missed by his wife of 57 years, Brith and his children, Cal (Barb), Cal’s son Daric (Sheena) and family - Rosy, Lochlan and Raif; Cal’s daughters, Amanda (Joel) Gervais and family – Jules and Cam; Lexie and Olivia; Lance (Alaina) and their children, Brittany (Aaron) Vanderlot - daughter Rachel, Marissa (Makelya), Cassidy and Kate; Tyler and his children, Lena and Tom. Joe will be deeply missed by his brother John of Carlyle; and sisters-in-law, Gerd Madsen of Weyburn and Thelma Pirlot of Regina; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends Paul and Annette LeNouail.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be at a later date when it is once again safe to gather together.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joseph may be made to the Moose Mountain Lodge, Box 729, Carlyle, SK S0C 0R0.
