June Engelke
1929 - 2022

June Marie Engelke passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Lampman Community Health Centre, Lampman, Sask. on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the age of 92.

June will be missed by her special friend Elgin Pryce; her children: Shirley (Roy) Hodgkinson, Glen (Anita) Fichter, Trevor (Lois) Fichter, Colleen Ludwig, Donna (Randy) Skorobohach, Maxine (Casey) Rosloot and Jenice (Les) Arnelien, as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Doris (Ray) Frehlick and Vivian (Ray) Weinrauch; brother-in-law Tom Dunn; sister-in-law Hilda Boire, and numerous nieces and nephews.

June was predeceased by her husband Alex Engelke; parents: Arthur and Anna Boire; brothers: Maurice, George and Albert Boire; sisters: Angel Funke and Rosine Dunn; son-in-law Brad Ludwig; great grandson Kaelan Fallscheer, and the father of her children, Frank Fichter.

June was the eldest of eight children. She attended Wilberforce School until grade 9; grade 10 was taken at the convent in Sedley, Sask. Upon retirement, she enjoyed going to dances throughout southeast Saskatchewan and attending events at the Estevan Senior Centre. Her greatest pastime was making quilts for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The Prayer Service was held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hall Funeral Services, Estevan. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church, Estevan, with Sandy Dalziel officiating. A luncheon followed in the church auditorium, after which interment took place at the Frobisher Resthaven Cemetery, Frobisher, Sask.
