Obituary for Kerry William Lalonde

Kerry Lalonde
1957 – 2021

Kerry Lalonde, late of Estevan, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the age of 64 years.

Kerry was born June 23,1957 to Nora and William Lalonde. He lived in Toronto, ON his whole life until he went on a road trip and met the love of his life, Jacki, at a gas station in Weyburn SK in 1976. Kerry spent the next 10 days hanging out with her at the lake, boating and having fun before returning to Ontario to prepare for a move to Saskatchewan. Kerry and Jacki moved to Moose Jaw SK in November of 1976. In 1977 they moved back to Toronto so Kerry could finish up trade school to become a heavy-duty mechanic. They were married in Viceroy SK on August 4, 1979, in his future in laws backyard and permanently moved back to Saskatchewan to start their family in June of 1981. They made it to Regina just in time to get moved in and a few renovations done as his first son Ryan was born in August of 1981 followed by Kevin in May of 1983. They moved back to Moose Jaw to open a truck repair shop with a partner in 1985. His third and final son Steven, was born in 1987. In 1992 they moved to Estevan into the house that he lived out the remainder of his life.

Kerry had many interests in his life including golf, boating, pool, darts, and fishing. Most of these he did with his sons. Kerry loved spending time with his family, whether it be a backyard BBQ, birthday or just a causal game of cards, it was something that he enjoyed. He was very proud of his sons, grandsons, and his one precious firecracker of a granddaughter, and loved watching them succeed in life, achieve their goals, or just cause childish mischief. Family was truly his reason to fight and the highlight of his life. Outside of his family Kerry had a smaller group of friends that would gather at the legion and the elks to play some cards and enjoy each other's company. He looked forward to this every week.

After a long struggle with cancer, Kerry sadly put his tools away and retired from a job he wasn't ready to leave at the age of 63. A year later he passed peacefully at home with his family by his side.

Kerry’s memory will forever be cherished by his family: mother Nora Lalonde; wife Jacki (nee Conroy); their 3 sons and their families, Ryan (grandson Brandon), Kevin (Jen) (grandchildren, Michael, Bryce and Ayvah) and Steven (grandsons, Oden and Ethin). Kerry will also be deeply missed by his siblings, Doug Lalonde and Colleen (Bruce) McDonald; Jacki’s family, Gayle (Bobo) Shenher, Donna (Merv) Lix, Wayne (Gloria) Conroy and Vicki (John) Murray as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Kerry’s mother passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 and has joined him in Heaven.

Kerry was predeceased by his father Bill Lalonde and Jacki’s parents, Maurice and Lorraine Conroy.

It was Kerry’s wish that his family spend Christmas together and have a Celebration of his life at a later date.
