Obituary for Thomas Wesley Busby

Thomas W. Busby
1947 – 2022

The family of Thomas Wesley Busby is saddened to announce the passing of Tom on Friday, August 26, 2022 at the Regina General Hospital, Regina, SK at the age of 74 years.

Tom had a passion for animals, the outdoors and sharing his opinion (whether you wanted to hear it or not). He wasn’t a man to share his feelings, but he showed his love for family by working hard and giving advice. He valued honesty and dependability above anything and would always show up when you needed him. He may have added a few “I told you so’s” but he would still help for whatever mess we had created.

Tom was a loving and loyal husband to Freda staying by her side everyday from the time they met until her passing. He first became a Dad by choosing to accept Gayla as his own when him and Freda married in 1991. They challenged each other and thrived in the back and forth. He always taught her “If you fall get right back on” and she has taken that with her every day of her life.

For his son, Ross, Tom worked everyday to be an example of what a good man was. Dependable, honest, and strong he exceeded in this in doing and so raised a man that was more like him than either one will admit.

Tom always had a coffee on for friends, a story to tell, and a twinkle in his eye while he cracked a joke or slipped a sly little comment in.

We will forever miss him and are forever grateful for out time with him.

Tom is survived by his daughter Gayla (Leon) Gilbertson and her children, Remy, Lexy, Ryder, Aiden and Ella; son Ross (Kiesha) and children, Elexia, Kyler and Brynlee; as well as one sister Carol Carter.

Tom was predeceased by his loving wife Freda and parents, Verna and Burton Busby.

A Private Service will be held at a later date.

THIS IS WHERE THE COWBOY RIDES AWAY"
