Walter Fredrick Lukye

1945 - 2023

With broken hearts the family wishes to announce that Walter Lukye, late of Estevan, SK passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Estevan, SK on Sunday, January 22, 2023 a the age of 77 years.

Walter was predeceased by his wife Beatrice; son Jeff; daughter Heidi; parents, Fred and Marie Lukye; brother Allan Lukye; parents-in-law Carl and Mary Karstad; brother-in-law Bertram Karstad and sister-in-law Bernice (Paul) Ogryzlo.

Walter’s memory will be forever cherished by his sons, Jeremy (Wendy Alexander) and Wally; daughter Nettie Lukye; daughter-in-law Keri Lukye and son-in-law Jason Vicary.  Walter will be missed by his nine grandchildren and three great grandsons; brothers, Edward (Connie) Lukye, Stanley (Ann Louise) Lukye and Raymond (Kathy McKelkie) Lukye; sisters, Caroline (Robert) Saxon, Katherine (Allan) Mack and Victoria Lukye; brother-in-law Bernard (Shirley) Karstad; sister-in-law Lorraine Lukye and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Walter’s life was held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Estevan, with Sandy Dalziel officiating.  A time of lunch and visiting followed.
