Sharon and Warren Giem

On Wednesday, March 29, 2023, Sharon and Warren Giem passed away with their immediate family by their side knowing they are at peace after their valiant fight with fourth stage cancer.

Leaving behind to cherish their memories are their two daughters, Tammy (Tom) Daniel and Shelly Giem Mack.  Precious memories will remain with their grandchildren, Kayla (Josh) Daniel, Colton (Lucy) Daniel, Brittany (Nathan) Harkins, Megan (Joel) Mack, Makenna (Dylan) Mack and most important their great grandchildren, Dalton, Lily, Reese, Declan and Emmarie.

They are also survived by Clint (Sally) Davies, Robyn Manwel, Garry (Toni) Giem, Darwin (Sheila) Giem, Blair (Karen) Giem and numerous nieces and nephews.

They were predeced in death by their parents, George and Olga Davies and Stewart and Katie Giem.

They gave so much to remember, they will be treasured in our hearts forever.

At Sharon and Warren’s request, there will be no service. Mom and Dad were placed in the Columbarium at the Estevan City Cemetery.

                                                       -Together Forever-

Mom was a very hard working lady in the public.  She enjoyed meeting people, she loved to socialize with her friends. (She always had a spread on) for everyone. NO LACK OF FOOD AT THE GIEM HOUSE.  She loved to be in the kitchen, baking, making perogies and cabbage rolls (which she taught her grandchildren to do).

Dad loved being a car salesman for many years which he was very successful doing.  During these years he met so many wonderful people that were still his very good friends.  He loved doing outside chores and he was very handy at vehicle and household things. He was definitely a perfectionist at everything.

In 2001, Mom and Dad started their retirement by venturing off to the Arizona sunshine.  This is were they met some of their Estevan friends and also made many more great friends.  While they were in the beautiful weather, they enjoyed happy hour and date shakes, drives in the amazing Arizona scenery.  They enjoyed popping over to Mexico to pick up some Kahlua and vanilla.  While Mom enjoyed the aerobics at the pool and playing bingo, Dad would be found at the pool hall playing pool with his buddies (and kicking their butts).  Mom told us that some days he didn’t get home til late.

Mom and Dad’s pride and joy was definitely their grandchildren which they spent a great deal of time with – from overnights to going away on trips with them, even just receiving a simple text or phone call from them brought great joy.

They thought grandkids were amazing until they received great grandchildren, first with Dalton (11 years ago) then Lily, Reese, Declan Warren and finally baby Emmy (18 months ago).

We, the daughters, Tammy and Shelly and our family would like to Thank Dr. Edward Tsoi and Dr. Sarah Tsoi for everything they have done for our parents. They have gone above and beyond for all of us. Your compassion has been so comforting and we are so thankful for you two.  We would also like to thank Dr. Arthur and Dr. Liknes for taking care of our mom in and out of the hospital.

A special thank you to the Allan Blaire Cancer Centre for all your care for our parents while they attended your facility.

Thank you so much to the Estevan Home Care nurses for your wonderful care of our parents while in their home and special thanks to Jennifer for all you have done for us during this difficult time.  Our parents spoke very highly of you.

Extra special thank you all the nurses on Unit A, you are all so unbelievably amazing - you made our parents' stay so comfortable. The care you have given them will never go unnoticed.  Thank you is just not a strong enough word for all of you.  Also to the EMS for their pick ups and drop offs for dad.

Also a big thank you to our special friend Ron Stregger for everything that you have done for our parents, from the snow removal to the odd jobs around the house – it was greatly appreciated.

Dad also wanted to thank Jason LeBlanc for all the combine rides, he really enjoyed them. Thank you for making great memories for our dad.

Also special thank you to Deb Heidinger for her amazing care for us during this difficult time.
