COVID-19

UPDATE - OCTOBER 25, 2020

An important message from the Hall Funeral Services family:

We have been informed by the Saskatchewan Health Authority that on October 17, 2020 between the hours of 6:00PM and 8:00PM, a person or persons attended our facility while likely infectious.

“Since the Reopen Saskatchewan Plan has allowed small gathering for funeral services and visitations, our staff has been diligently working to ensure that the safety of all guests in our facility is a top priority.” Owner, Dustin Hall explained. Sanitization processes include disinfecting of high touch/high traffic areas, and the use of electrostatic disinfectant fogging in between events. “Additionally, our staff completes a symptom checklist daily, and are not permitted to work if displaying any symptoms of the Covid-19 Virus” added Hall.

Public Health officials are requesting that all individuals that were in attendance at Hall Funeral Services, 1506 – 4th St. Estevan, from 6 to 8 p.m. self-isolate immediately and contact Weyburn Public Health at 306-861-4808 for further guidance. If you have already been contacted by Public Health, you do not need to call at this time. If you also attended the private gathering associated with the visitation that evening, and have not been contacted by Public Health, please call the number listed above.

At the time of the exposure, we only had one staff member in attendance who is following the direction of public health officials, and will not be returning to work until cleared by SHA.

Hall went on to say “Our belief has always been, and continues to be, that it is important to  support one another in times of loss. We will continue to accommodate families to the best of our ability, while recognizing that the safety of our staff and their families, our client families and the public at large is paramount.”

Hall Funeral Services Inc. - Statement Regarding COVID-19
(Revised June 18, 2020)

Our facility is once again open to the public.
Appointments are still preferred, and we would ask that all
meetings be limited to 2 attendees whenever possible.
Thank you very much for your continued patience!

We at Hall Funeral Services are obliged to ensure we do our best to keep our client families and staff safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our belief has always been, and continues to be, that it is important to gather and support one another in times of loss. We will continue to accommodate families to the best of our ability, while recognizing that the safety of our staff and their families, our client families and the public at large is paramount.

As of June 12, 2020 places of worship, including funeral homes, are permitted gatherings of one-third of the facility's seating capacity, to a maximum of 150 people. For those interested in utilizing our funeral chapel, this means we are able to accommodate about 40 people. Outdoor services at a cemetery are allowed 150 guests, as long as physical distancing is followed.

We ask those who are at risk or not feeling well to stay at home. We also ask that those who have recently traveled back from another country to stay home, unless you are past the 14 day self-isolation period.

As funeral service professionals, we experience the value that funerals have for our client families on a daily basis. Our hearts are heavy, being unable to provide the full range of professional services that our communities have come to expect. We will look forward to the day that we can serve our families at full capacity once again.

We have advised our staff of our expectations in regards to out-of-province/country travel to keep in line with the provincial government’s recent guidelines. We will all be extra-diligent as far as hygiene – hand washing, cough etiquette, etc. We will also be practicing increased disinfection procedures in our facilities.

We encourage you to follow the PHAC recommendations to take the usual steps to help prevent the spread of illness:
-       Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
-        If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol
-       Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
-       Cover your coughs and sneezes with your arm or inner elbow
-       Avoid close contact with sick people
-       Stay home when you are sick or not feeling well
