Obituary for Anthony Charles Bruce

ANTHONY CHARLES BRUCE
1953 - 2016

Tony Bruce of Weyburn, SK was called back by God on Monday, July 4th at St. Joseph's Hospital in Estevan, SK. He spent his last days on earth peacefully resting, surrounded by his loved ones.

Tony was predeceased by his father, Charles Wilson Bruce in 1997. Tony is survived by his daughter Regan (Ross); his mother Cecile; his sister Heather; brother Robin (Linda); niece and nephews, Lauren (Matthew), Cameron & Tyson Bruce. There are two very special little babies left to grow up with only stories, his grandson Henry and great nephew McGinnis. Also left to cherish his memory are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Tony's cat Gizzmo will also miss his love and attention.

Tony was born on a cool spring day in March and spent the majority of his life living in Weyburn. He enjoyed many hobbies over the years which included motorcycling, snowmobiles, model airplanes, restoring vehicles; basically anything with moving parts.

Throughout the years, Tony made many friends which shared similar interests, and kept busy with work and his toys. He always had time to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.

He also kept busy in the background managing the symptoms of liver disease. It was this that in the end took him to the next stage of life. He survived a transplant in 1988 and was not able to receive a second. He kept strong willed and unwavering right until the very end.

Tony will be fondly remembered by all who he encountered throughout his life and would want people to remember how fragile good health can be. Experience life and cherish every day that you wake up.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul R.C. Church, Weyburn, with Rev. Gerry Bauche presiding. Immediately following the Funeral Mass, a luncheon took place at McKenna Hall, and a private family interment was held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tony's memory to The Weyburn Humane Society, PO Box 1062, Weyburn, SK S4H 2L3.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Estevan.
