Let me tell you a little bit about my dad,
Gordon Hanson.
He was a slow moving, non excitable, quiet man who had a sense of humor that made most people blush.
With a love of polkas he was the one who introduced me to that sound, what can I say, I'm hooked. Every time I hear those accordions I jump up and do the polka, thinking to myself, dad would enjoy seeing this.
One of dad's greatest loves was camping. I remember as a little girl helping dad set up and take down the tent trailer. Oh the times we had fighting with that canvas and getting those tube bars aligned. But there were perks, when dad would drive around the block with me closed up inside the trailer. ahh good times.
Through out the years he's had various campers and loved them all. One of his favorite things was waking up early and having a cup of coffee while enjoying the morning sun. Still after all these years of camping, with his oxygen tank beside him, you'd still see him this summer out at the campsite enjoying himself. I'm just like dad because I love camping too.
He was always there for me especially during the hard times. When my first husband died dad helped in so many ways. Whether it was moving me back to Estevan or showing me his way of getting a baby to stop crying during a bad case of colic.
I'll never forget the things he's done for me, like walking me down the isle or bringing the grader by to clean the snow off of my sidewalks, he's always been there, thanks dad!
I miss and love you dad. You'll always be in my heart. Your loving daughter, Diana
