Obituary for Richard Fredrick Groshong
Richard Fredrick Groshong
March 23, 1949 – February 15, 2018
It is with hearts full of sorrow that the family announces the passing of Richard Groshong late of Torquay, SK on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Estevan, SK at the age of 68 years.
Richard was predeceased by his grandparents, Willis and Margaret Ann Groshong and Fred and Katherine Durst, as well as his parents-in-law William and Dorothy Brokenshire.
Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Elaine (Brokenshire) Groshong and their sons, Chad (Shayna) and their son Cole and Brad (Pam) and their children Kara, Owen and Alexa. He will be greatly missed by his parents, Fred and Kathryn Groshong and siblings, Willis and Ursula Groshong and family Jennifer, Ben and Oliver Stroup, Adam and Vanessa (Kelsey); Lynn and Ray Piasta and family Amanda (Yasmina) and Eric; Lois and Cal Guest and family Paul, Tara, Chris, Cohen and Jackson Fanzega and Nicole (Jude).
Visitation was held in the Chapel of Hall Funeral Services, Estevan on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service was held at St. Paul’s United Church, Estevan on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jason Richards presiding. A Private family interment at Souris Valley Memorial Gardens followed the service. A time of lunch and visiting took place in the auditorium at St. Paul’s United Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Richard may be made to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency (designate to Allan Blair Cancer Centre), 200 – 4545 Parliament Ave., Regina, SK, S4W 0G3 or the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, 1176 Nicholson Rd., Estevan, SK, S4A 0H3.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Estevan.
