George Kovh
1949 - 2020

George Michael Kovh, late of Estevan, SK passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2020 at the Estevan Regional Nursing Home, Estevan, SK at the age of 70 years.

George was predeceased by his parents, Mike & Marie Kovh; brother Andy Popovic and sister- in-law Judy Kovh.

George is survived by his brother Mike (Tammy) Kovh and their family, Mike Jr. (Corrine) Kovh (daughter Kaitlyn Kovh and Tyryss Bonner) and Andy Kovh; brother Dan (Sharon) Kovh and their family, Michelle Kleinsasser (daughter Brooke and son Ashton); brother Lance Kovh; brother Bill (Linda) Popovic ; sister-in-law Phylis Popovic and her family, Laura Popovic, Lyle Popovic (Jen) and David Popovic.

George grew up in Estevan, SK and then spent most of his adult life living and working in North Battleford. George loved all sports of all kinds, whether participating in or watching on TV. He had a real passion for fishing and hunting in his healthier days and has left us with many stories to tell. A good card game, especially bridge was also high on his list. George spent many seasons on the baseball diamonds as umpire for both men’s and women’s games. George never missed a hockey, baseball, basketball or football game on TV. If you wanted to know the team standings or player stats, you could just ask George. In his later years, George especially liked to get out and go to family outings. He loved to just sit and hold or pet any of the family dogs that always were drawn to him. If you were to sum up George’s life in a few words, you would say “HE DID IT HIS WAY”.

In Keeping with George’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service.

I’m so sorry to hear about George. He loved all dogs and always made them feel special with handfuls of treats. Fuzzy and I missed visiting with him daily after Graham was moved to Regina and so we made a point of visiting on our trips back to Estevan. I will miss him.

Condolences to the whole family.

Too bad this site did not allow pictures as I have a great one of the two of them sitting together.

Our pup Bella was drawn to George on every visit to see our Mom at Trinity Towers. George would work his caring magic on her. You could tell he was a wonderful caring man by the way our little yorkie responded back to George. He will be fondly remembered🐾♥️🐶
