Dear Family and Friends; Joyce and Henk will never be forgotten!! Henk was an old frien from 1944 when I landed up on Rozenburg during the hunger winter. We went to school together we played together until we lost touch and all I knew Henk got married and immigrated to Canada!! When I emigrated to Canada back in 1955 I always had back in my mind to find Henk wherever he and his were settled all I knew that he settled in SE Saskatchewan!! In 1958 I traveled with 2 friends in an old Ford Meteor going West and started looking near Weyburn Finally we had a lead that they were living in Outram at the Memory Farm we found them around 2am in the morning and we were so exited to find each other I don't think we went to bed!!! Joyce and Henk offered their basement to us and suggested to look for work at the Power Plant a so it happened!! We had a most wonderful time together Joyce looked after us as a dear mother and we went on many outings together camping, going to Regina etc. I think we stayed for at least 2 months!! After we left with heavy hearts we kept in touch and even had a reunion at one time. Yes Joyce was a dear mother to us !! Later on we exchanged some of our children and we were thrilled that Henk and Joyce made it to my sons wedding in Calgary!!,even he hated to drive in the city. We are still keeping in touch by phoning and if there is an opportunity to see each other and always a wonderful time and hate to leave!! Thank you Joyce for being such a great friend and you were like a 2e mother to us!! Thank you!! Always admired them how simple they lived but were great farmers as we see now and gave credit to God!!! Henk won't be easy to be without Joyce but we both know to who we can turn to in case of lonesomeness!! Dirk Jol jol@sfu.ca
