Growing up as neighbors, and now as an adult, I (Arleen) look back and see how Joyce brought a vibrancy and a unique diversity to the community as she brought with her the language, culture, cuisine and customs of The Netherlands. She was able to embrace a life in Canada while sharing her roots with those around her, something I admired about her.
