Ma tante Laurence

Ma tante Laurence will be missed by many.  She was a very kind hearted soul, usually seen with a smile.  Whenever I hear her name, I hear the sound of her unique voice and laugh.  A very jolly lady!

As you've mentioned, she alway had some baking or treats ready for whoever would stop by for a visit.  We all have our own way of showing our love for one another, for Ma tante Laurence's it was through her food.  Our families used to get together for Christmas Day or Easter Sunday.  When it was Ma tante Laurence's turn to have us over, ohhhh the smells as you walked into the house.  We would wait in great anticipation to sit down and partake in the delicious home cooked meals and desserts.

Ma tante Laurence was a longtime member of the Dames de St-Annes and later the Bellegarde Ladies' Guild.  Whenever she was asked to donate a desserts for fowl suppers or weddings, it was a rare event that these delectable little treasures would make the table for the general crowd.  We, the ladies working along her, would have claimed all of the pieces of desserts before anyone else had a chance.  I apologize for those who were never fortunate enough to eat one of her desserts  but we just could not resist.  Oh the fresh strawberry pies!!!

Ma tante Laurence, thank you for your kind heart and warm soul.  I know the angels are welcoming you with open arms.  Peace be with you always  ♥
